Information for Parents
Register your child by coming to the gym office or calling (586) 803-1333 during New Student Registration. Space is limited and classes fill quickly! In-person registration begins at 8 a.m. and telephone registration starts at 9 a.m. on the first day of New Student Registration for each session. We strongly recommend that you register in person, as soon as we open, on day #1 of the registration period for your best chance of getting the day and time you want. Returning students may register starting at 9:00 a.m. on the first day of Returning Student Registration.
Registration can be done by phone with a credit card or in person. Classes will not be held without full payment. New customers may not register before the registration dates listed at the top of the schedule. If you register by telephone, you must fill out an emergency card on or before the first day of your child's class (new students only). Each family must pay the $25 annual registration fee. This registration fee is non-refundable. Families with more than one student will receive a 10% discount for each additional student. Students taking more than one class will receive a 10% discount on each additional class.
Payment can be made with cash, check or credit card (Visa, Master Card or Discover). Payment can be made in person or by phone. Registration cannot be done by mail.
Refund Policy - New customers registering for their first session may receive a full refund if the student is withdrawn within the first two weeks of class. Returning students will only receive a refund if the student is withdrawn before the first day of the session. Once the session begins, no refunds will be granted. Refunds will be given by check only. Allow two weeks for refunds to be processed. The family registration fee will not be refunded for any reason.
Attire - Students may wear a leotard or shorts and a t-shirt and bare feet. Girls must pull their hair back into a pony. No jewelry should be worn, and if earrings are worn they should be post earrings only. Parents: please make sure your child wears clothing that is appropriate for performing gymnastics skills.
Parent and Tot Classes - During the Parent and Tot class, only one adult may accompany the student, and no additional siblings are allowed in the gym area. One adult per child is needed. Parents will want to plan on wearing comfortable attire. Parents will be removing their shoes but can choose to keep socks on.
First Day of Class: If you have a returning student or registered in-person you, will not need to check in at the front desk. Instead, you may go into the viewing area and wait for the announcement that class is starting. If you register by phone and you have a new student, you will need to fill out and sign an emergency card before class begins. Please plan on arriving 10-15 minutes early to fill out the emergency card. The student’s legal guardian is required to sign the waiver on the emergency card before the student is able to participate.
Cleaning: Olympia has a reputation for being one of the cleanest facilities in the area. We have cleaning & sterilization procedures that are performed several times throughout the day by members of our staff and cleaning professionals. In addition, each month our entire facility is treated by Biogreen Solutions with a ULV fogging process. This is an EPA registered disinfectant. We also strongly encourage students to clean and sanitize hands before class time. We have sanitizer stations in our viewing area that student can use before entering the gym.
Viewing Area - Olympia is proud to offer a spacious enclosed viewing area for family and spectators. Our viewing area is equipped with wireless internet, vending machines and a television for the children. Please stay in the parents' area. No one is allowed in the gym area except for students. Please keep complete control of your children while in the viewing area. Do not allow your child to run in the parents' area.
Makeups - Make-ups are available for a missed class. You may schedule a make-up by calling or stopping by the front desk. We allow one make-up per session, but will try to accommodate up to 3 make-ups in one session if possible. The last few weeks of the session are the hardest to schedule make up appointments. We recommend trying to avoid waiting till those weeks to schedule your make up. If you schedule an appointment and are unable to make it, please call to cancel. If you do not cancel the appointment it will count as your make up. Classes not made up within the session will be forfeited and cannot be transferred to the next session. We cannot schedule make up appointments before a session begins or during the first week of classes. We begin scheduling make-up appointments after each day of the week has completed week #1 of the session (please check our session calendar for more information).
Parking - Please drive carefully in our parking lot. Parents, please utilize all the parking spots in the front, side and rear of our building.
Referral Program - When you tell someone about Olympia Gymnastics and they enroll in any of our programs, you will receive $10 off the next session's tuition. In the mail you will receive a thank you card that you bring in to the office to receive your credit! Just tell your friend to give us your when they check in at the desk on the first day of class. And you win!
Class Closings/Inclement Weather - We are closed for most major holidays. Always refer to the current class calendar that is passed out on the first day of class. If Utica Schools close due to snow, we will close our morning and early afternoon classes. We will update our website and the voicemail by 2:00 p.m. for a report on evening classes & team practice. On inclement weather days, it is your responsibility to check the website or call the gym prior to your scheduled class. We do not follow the Utica Schools for periodic days off only snow days (and only morning classes are canceled.)
